2024 Conference

The 2024 Contemplative Practices for Higher Education (CPHE) Conference will be held Feb. 29-Mar. 2 in Lexington, Kentucky. An opportunity for higher education professionals, students and others who are using or interested in learning more about contemplative practices and pedagogy to gather to share new work and explore new methods across disciplines and domains. The conference is convened by C-HEARTS, the Contemplative Higher Education Alliance for Research, Teaching, and Service and hosted by the University of Kentucky, under the leadership of Conference Chair Lance Brunner, and the 2024 Conference Organizing Committee.

SPONSORSHIPS enable us to keep the cost of the conference as low as possible, particularly in providing vastly reduced Student Registration rates. We also raise funds for the Douglas Lindner Scholarship Fund for those requiring support in order to be able to attend.

    • Standard Professional: $300 (as of Feb. 5)

    • Student (Grad, Undergrad): $75

  • 1-2 pm Keynote Conversation, "Apples into Doves: The Alchemy of Narrative," Laura Simms & Bobbi Patterson

  • 2-4:30 pm Breakout Sessions

  • 5-6:20 pm Dinner provided, featuring Special Guest Appearance & Poetry Reading, "Loss & Healing," by Frank X. Walker (Ballroom)

  • 6:20-8:00 pm Evening Keynote Program, Erica Gabriel, “Healing the Healers: Music as Contemplative Practice, an Artist’s Perspective”

Saturday, March 2

  • DAYLONG RETREAT, “The One Who Is Not Busy: A Contemplative Arts Retreat” facilitated by Laura Simms, Lance Brunner & Carine Gibert

  • 8:30-9:00 am retreat check-in, location: Saint Augustine Chapel

  • 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Retreat

  • Lunch will be provided during retreat
